I have been studying medicinal herbs since 1997 and hold a Master of Science in Oriental Medicine from the Midwest College of Oriental Medicine. During my years of study I interned under Dr. Leaf Ye Song, MD Beijing, China and at Guanzhou University Hospital and Provincial Hospital, China. I have been doing nutritional and herbal consults since 2001. Prior to my studies at the MCOM I completed a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering from the Milwaukee School of Engineering and worked as a design engineer designing patient monitoring equipment. I am also a Tai Chi Chuan Teacher, certified by the Tai Chi Chuan Center of Milwaukee, on Locust and Fratney, under Michael Milewski.
Now you might ask "How could you go from engineering to Holistic Medicine?"
During my undergraduate course work I started reading books on herbs; Native American herbs, Chinese Medicinal herbs, and Ayurvedic Herbs. I also started studying the Yang Short Form at the Tai Chi Chuan Center of Milwaukee on Locust and Fratney. Cheng Man Ching, who developed the Yang Short Form after years of studying under Yang Cheng Fu, was a Chinese Medical Doctor. I read a few of his books on Tai Chi, got deeper into the study and practice of Tai Chi, read another book on Chinese Medicinal Herbs and came back to my childhood desire to practice medicine. I finished my undergraduate study and went to work designing a CO2 and Anesthetic Agent board, handheld pulse oximetry, blood pressure circuitry, and other little devices and bits of code all the while getting deeper and deeper into Tai Chi. While working I started the Master of Oriental Medicine program at MCOM... after a few years of engineering work and a year of Oriental Medicine Study I quit my job... went to China for an internship... And then... Shalem Healing...
