Robert Fox has been studying medicinal herbs since 1997 and is a Doctor of Oriental Medicine, Acupuncture Physician and Nurse Practitioner. During his years of study he interned under Dr. Leaf Ye Song, MD Beijing, China at her Madison clinic, and at Guanzhou University Hospital and Provincial Hospital, China. He has been doing nutritional and herbal consults since 2001. Prior to his studies at the Midwest College of Oriental Medicine he completed a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering from the Milwaukee School of Engineering and worked as a design engineer designing patient monitoring equipment. His Nurse Practitioner degree is from Marquette University. He did rotations at Childrens Hospital of Wisconsin(CHW)/Medical College of WI Immunodeficiency Clinic, CHW inpatient and outpatient cardiology, Marquette Neighborhood Health Center and ProHealth Care. He is also a Tai Chi Chuan Teacher, certified by the Tai Chi Chuan Center of Milwaukee. His board certifications are in Pediatrics and Acupuncture.

Practice Interests  
Dr. Fox's interests are in nutritional science and functional medicine approaches to allergies, asthma, autism, ADD, ADHD, diabetes, obesity, multiple sclerosis, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, depression, anxiety, schizophrenia, complementary cancer treatment, and general prevention.

Clinic Origin  
Dr. Fox opened Shalem Healing in 2003 in Wauwatosa. In 2005 he moved his office to its current location in Riverwest Milwaukee. This location is a need based location as defined by the National Health Service Corps. Meaning that individuals in this area lack access to health care as well as tend to be uninsured or underinsured.

The clinic offers complete integrative care for Pediatrics, Women's Health and Family Practice.
